El Pasoans Greg Long and Bobby DeHaro have taken the first steps on a long journey to play professional football.
Long, an Eastwood alum, who finished his career at Purdue after playing four years at UTEP, signed a free agent deal with the Arizona Cardinals. His offensive line coach, Sean Kugler, recruited Long to UTEP, and he will also be trying to make a unit that includes his former Miner teammate Will Hernandez.
Long played at UTEP from 2016-19 before transferring to Purdue, where he was honorable mention all-conference in 2020.
De Haro, a Montwood alum, recently completed a rookie minicamp with the Indianapolis Colts that ran from May 13-15.
