When the USL released its back-to-play schedule in July, with arch-rivals El Paso and New Mexico together in Group C, Saturday's showdown always looked likely to be the season's pivotal match.
The only thing that has changed since then is where it's going to happen. Originally set for Albuquerque, the match that could decide the group is now set for Southwest University Park after the United were barred from playing at home because of COVID-19.
With the season series tied 1-1-1, El Paso can clinch the group championship and guarantee a home playoff match with a victory against its closest and biggest rival.
