UTEP libero Alyssa Sianez may be a 5-foot-3 volleyball player on a team in a sport full of tall women, but there's no way for her to hide.
The freshman from El Paso High, who began the year as the Plan B libero behind the now injured Hula Crisostomo, is the Miners' primary serve-receiver, whose job is to set up under the spotlight and be the target for the other team.
"I've asked her to stand in the middle of the floor against good college volleyball teams and go get balls other people can't go get," UTEP coach Ben Wallis said.
