Dana Dimel talks about Rice Bret Bloomquist, Wochit
As UTEP gets ready to take on a Rice program also in the second year under a new coach, Miners coach Dana Dimel pointed to the team that just beat UTEP, rival New Mexico State, as an example of how he wants to build here in El Paso.
That means a turnaround for a program that has won twice in the past three years and is 2-21 under Dimel could still be more than a year away.
Aggie "coach (Doug) Martin and I had a big conversation before the game and he said to put your stamp on the program, it takes four full recruiting classes, that's exactly what he said to me," Dimel said Monday at his weekly press conference to kick off Rice week.
