RUIDOSO, N.M. — UTEP's quarterback situation varies wildly at the top two spots in the depth chart.
Dana Dimel clarified that Brandon Jones, as long as he stays healthy, will be the starting quarterback for the Houston Baptist opener.
As for the second spot, "that could be a game-week decision," Dimel said.
The big variable is when Kai Locksley will be allowed to compete for a spot, and the senior, coming off a suspension following his arrest on four charges in June, has yet to take his first rep in practice in a team or seven-on-seven situation.
