The UTEP women's basketball team's shot didn't travel to Southern Miss Monday, as the ice-cold Miners fell 55-49 on a day where they shot 27% from the field.
The Miners fell to 2-3 in Conference USA and 10-5 overall.
UTEP never led but did get within 46-44 with 3:50 remaining after a pair of Katia Gallegos free throws, but the Miners missed their next three shots and finally lost contact.
"That is what it is, no excuses on how we came out," assistant coach Todd Buchanan said. "We never could get into a flow. Two point, two point, two point differential.
