The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Reno Aces 7-3 Thursday night at Greater Nevada Field to take a commanding 2-0 series advantage in the best-of-five series. El Paso is now one win away from heading back to the Pacific Coast League Championship series.
The win was powered by a Dusty Coleman two-run homer in the fourth inning and a Diego Goris two-run home run in the eighth inning.
The home run by Coleman capped a three-run inning and gave the Chihuahuas a 3-0 lead after Jose Rondon hit an RBI double earlier in the inning.
After the teams traded runs, the Aces cut into the deficit in the seventh inning when Evan Marzilli hit an RBI single, scoring Rudy Flores.
