The El Paso Chihuahuas are set to remain with the only parent club they've ever known, as the San Diego Padres have invited the Chihuahuas to remain as a their Triple-A affiliate.
The Padres invited El Paso to remain their AAA team, their former Double-A affiliate the San Antonio Missions to move back to that level, and Lake Elsinore and Fort Wayne (Ind.) to be retained as Class A affiliates.
All affiliations were voided this year in the aftermath of the COVID suspension, so El Paso will need to sign a new agreement with San Diego to stay with the Padres.
