Chihuahuas beat Reno to take game one

The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Reno Aces 3-1 Wednesday night at Greater Nevada Field to take a 1-0 advantage in the Pacific Conference Championship series. The series winner is best-of-five.

Trailing 1-0 Wednesday, Hunter Renfroe led off the top of the fourth with a line drive home run over the left field wall. It was Renfroe’s fifth PCL playoff home run in his three postseasons with El Paso. Additional RBIs by Renfroe and Jose Rondon gave the Chihuahuas their 3-1 lead. Neither team scored in the final four innings of the game, a rarity in hitter-friendly Reno.
