Charlotte used a solid second half to defeat visiting UTEP, 66-53, on Thursday night at Dale F. Halton Arena.
The Miners trailed just 32-29 at halftime, but the 49ers quickly took control in the second half and never trailed in the final 20 minutes.
UTEP falls to 8-8 overall and 1-3 in Conference USA. Charlotte is 8-5 overall and 1-0 in league play. The 49ers, who are 6-1 at home this season, were playing their first game since Dec. 22 due to COVID-19 protocols.
UTEP got as close as 56-49 in the second half on an Alfred Hollins basket.
