UTEP junior center Bryson Williams, a first-team All-Conference USA selection last season in his Miner debut, was selected to the 10-member preseason all-conference team by league coaches Thursday.
The coaches tabbed UTEP eighth in the preseason poll, which is three spots higher than last season's 11th-place finish.
Williams averaged 17.8 points and 7.2 rebounds a game last season for the 17-15 Miners, his first season to play for UTEP after transferring from Fresno State and sitting out a transfer year.
UTEP can open its 2020-21 season on Nov. 25, but the school has yet to release a schedule and has not indicated when it will.
