Gino Bresolin's fate was never to be a big-name superstar for the UTEP football team.
That's rarely the way of it for defensive tackles and noseguards.
Bresolin is something that in coach Sean Kugler's program is just as important. He's the bedrock guy, the glue guy, the hard-hat, lunchpail, blue-collar worker, and now a senior leader.
Every defensive player's dream is a touchdown, or least a sack-fumble, but Bresolin's down-in-down-out job is to tie up the middle of the offensive line to free things up for the second-level players behind him.
"It's eating blocks, helping the backers make plays," Bresolin said in his typical understated manner as he helped his team get ready for Saturday's game with Florida International.
