BLOOMQUIST: 2020 finally getting the best of UTEP football

The train wreck of 2020 is finally beating down UTEP football.

That seemed somewhat inevitable, and in Saturday's 52-21 loss to UTSA, it came to full fruition.

A Miner team that had three of its previous four games either postponed or cancelled because of their opponents' issues, that is staring at another cancellation this coming week that isn't of its doing, looked out of sorts and disoriented.

Missing one starter and a number of backups for undisclosed reasons , coach Dana Dimel played anyway out of a sense of honor.

UTEP came in missing two of its top four cornerbacks, starter Dennis Barnes for undisclosed reasons and Robert Corner to injury, then lost Duron Lowe to an ejection UTEP could not afford.
