At some point soon, a vastly improved UTEP football team needs to seize something more tangible than saying they should have won.
There is a temptation to say the Miners continued to move forward in a 38-28 loss to Charlotte that should have looked more like 24-14.
What should also be said is that there are more steps for UTEP to take.
What their improvement means is that they are now better than some of the teams left on their schedule and they have a real chance at six wins and a bowl this year, but against people as good or better than them, they still haven't been able to find a way through.
