If the UTEP women's basketball team is going to pull out of its early season tailspin, the Miners are going to have to learn how to win close games.
Their problems don't come from a lack of lessons.
For the fifth consecutive contest, the Miners were in position to win Saturday against Arkansas State. For the fifth consecutive game, they lost by 5 points or fewer as the Red Wolves closed on a 5-1 run to come away with a 67-66 victory.
After Arkansas State took the lead with a 3-point play with 14 seconds to play, UTEP, for the third time in this losing streak, failed to get off a shot that could have won the game.
