New Mexico State football coach Doug Martin knew for nine months that this season was going to be a hard one, and Martin is a man who knows hard.
Coaching the Aggies has always been a job with unique challenges, and through the first five years of his tenure, Martin saw his team break a 17-game losing streak (at the time, the longest in the nation), a 57-year bowl drought (at that time, the longest in the nation) and have its first winning season since 2002.
