Texas Western’s sixth-ranked basketball Miners swamped New Mexico State University, 104-78, in Memorial Gym Tuesday night for their 15th straight win this season without a loss.
The Miners, led by Bobby Joe Hill and Orsten Artis, put on an exhibition of run-and-shoot basketball seldom seen in Memorial Gym since Don Haskins started his regime as head coach of the Miners.
The torrid pace set by the Miners repeatedly brought a standing-room-only crowd of 5,201 to tis feet.
Hill, a 5-foot-10 junior guard from Detroit, scorched the nets for 20 points in the first half with lightning-fast driving layups under and through the arms of 7-foot Aggie center Mike Dabich.
