SALT LAKE CITY — With three games remaining in conference play, Utah football is well on its way to finally claiming a South Division title.
The defense is arguably the best in school history, special teams has been effective and the offense is now rolling amid a four-game winning streak where the Utes have scored more than 40 points in each game. Barring a severe deviation from the current design of the team, Utah will be focusing on an eventual Pac-12 championship game appearance.
But past precedent leaves some room for pause, as Utah has been in a similar position in years past but allowed a November collapse to doom their opportunity.
