SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah volleyball team came out firing on all cylinders and took the first set from No. 12-ranked UCLA, but the Bruins countered with wins in the second, third and fourth set to down the Utes 3-1 (17-25, 25-12, 25-15, 25-16) Friday evening at the Huntsman Center.
Utah falls to 7-9 overall and 1-4 in Pac-12 play, while the Bruins pushed its record to 12-3 overall and 3-2 in league play.
Utah went on runs of 5-1 and 5-2 to take a 19-14 lead midway through the first set and later closed out the frame winning the final five points to take the set 25-17.
