SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Utah senior middle blocker Brenna DeYoung has been named the Pac-12 Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
DeYoung showcased her best defensive performance at the net for the Utes this past week, collecting a solo block and 29 block assists for a total of 30 blocks, while helping guide Utah to a 3-1 record in four matches.
The Tooele native tied a career-high with six total blocks in Utah’s 3-1 win against Utah State last Tuesday, but just a few days later she would set a new career-high, opening the Gonzaga Invitational with seven total blocks in a 3-1 win over Montana.
