SALT LAKE CITY – The No. 63 Utah women’s tennis team claimed victory over the Arizona Wildcats at the Eccles Tennis Center.
“It was great to start the Pac-12 1-0 with a win over a very good Arizona team,” Utah head coach Mat Iandolo said. “It was a great doubles point win and the freshmen really stepped it up in the singles.”
Utah’s Sarah Richter and Alexia Petrovic def. Inge Hendrikx and Samantha Czarniak 6-3 to open up the match.
They were closely followed by Margo Pletcher and Brianna Turley clinching the doubles point over Lauren Marker and Shayne Austin 6-4.
