SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The University of Utah women’s tennis team started off its spring season Sunday with a 6-1 win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
“My biggest concern coming into this was we have a young team coming into their first big match,” said Utah head coach Mat Iandolo. “I thought they did a great job of handling everything involved in playing a first match.”
Sarah Richter and Alexia Petrovic collected the doubles victory against Melanie Yates and Alex Bourguignon 6-4.
Petrovic’s singles match came down to a tie break against Domonique Garley in which she won 10-5.
