LOS ANGELES - Utah soccer was on the wrong end of a penalty call in the second half and lost at No. 24 USC, 1-0 this afternoon.
On the hour mark, a foul occurred in the Utah penalty area and the Trojans capitalized, taking the lead on Mandy Freeman’s spot kick. It was her second of the season and one of only three shots on goal for USC in the contest.
The Trojans started quickly and had the first four shots of the match, but could not find the frame. After USC was whistled for being offside, Utah earned a corner-kick in the eighth minute.
