SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah gymnastics team, which came within a fraction of winning the 2015 NCAA Gymnastics Championship back in April, has finished a close second in the classroom as well.
The 2015 Utes, who placed second at the NCAA Championships in a meet decided by five-hundredths of a point, recorded a 3.7838 team grade-point average to finish second behind Texas Woman’s 3.7947 GPA in the national gymnastics academic competition sponsored by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W).
Utah’s 3.7838 team GPA was better than last year’s 3.7827, which led all women’s gymnastics teams in 2013-14.
