SALT LAKE CITY – Sophomore wing Malia Nawahine posted a team-high 14 points, her sixth double-figure game of the season, but the University of Utah women’s basketball team fell to USC 70-59 during its Ute Proud Game on Friday in the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
In a close game that had eight lead changes and was tied seven times, Utah (12-8, 4-5 Pac-12) held a 44-32 advantage in points in the paint over USC and the Utes also held an 11-6 edge in second-chance points over the Trojans.
Nawahine poured in 14 points to record double-digits for the 14th time of her career and the sixth time this season.
