W. Basketball. Utah Women’s Basketball Beats Lamar, 71-67

SALT LAKE CITY – Redshirt sophomore forward Emily Potter set a career-high with seven blocks and equaled her career best with 18 points off an 8-of-9 shooting night to give the University of Utah women’s basketball team a 71-67 win over Lamar on Tuesday in the Huntsman Center.

Utah is off to its first 2-0 start since 2012-13 after holding Lamar to 30.4% shooting (21-69), while hitting 49.0% (24-49) from the field. The Utes also held a 44-36 edge in rebounding.

“We did a great job defensively,” Utah Head Coach Lynne Roberts said.
