SALT LAKE CITY — Starting out conference play 1-3, Utah looked like a shadow of the team it had the year prior under the direction of star guard Delon Wright. But a late-season surge and coming together as a team lifted Utah to be considered a strong contender in March.
Utah closed out the regular season winning seven straight games — the most in school history since joining the Pac-12 — and winning 12 of the its last 14 games. Only Oregon had a similar finish to the end of its season, winning five straight and 11 of their last 13.
