The Utah secondary got stronger on Wednesday night when former Washington safety Brandon McKinney committed to play for the Utes this upcoming season. McKinney made the announcement on Instagram.
McKinney is eligible to play immediately, and with an injury to RJ Hubert, he’ll likely be in the running for a starting role the moment he steps onto campus.
According to 247 Sports McKinney was the 22nd best safety coming out in 2017 and had an offer from almost every Pac-12 South team, including Utah.
McKinney played in 44 games over four seasons at UW.
