After sweeping the Bay Area schools at home, the Utah Runnin' Utes (17-5, 6-3 Pac-12) moved up in the receiving votes category of both polls. Utah received enough votes to be effectively ranked No. 29 in the AP Poll and No. 28 in the Coaches Poll. The Runnin' Utes are riding a five game winning streak in Pac-12 play. They will have a big test this week though, traveling to the Oregon schools. They first play at Oregon State on Thursday, Feb. 4, then at No. 16/17 Oregon on Sunday, Feb. 7 (yes, Super Bowl Sunday). Oregon is currently first in the Pac-12 with a 7-2 record in conference play.
