FORT WORTH, Texas — Utah gymnastics’ Georgia Dabritz became the NCAA uneven bars national champion after scoring 9.9625 in the individual competition Sunday.
“It feels great. I can’t think of a better way to end my career,” said Dabritz.
The senior is Utah’s first NCAA champion since 2007 when Ashley Postell won the balance beam title. In 2006, Kristina Baskett won the bars title.
Dabritz, who ranked first on the event in the regular season, was favored to claim the title. She scored 10.0s in the semifinals and Super Six, making her the first gymnast in history to earn back-to-back perfect scores in both championship competitions.
