Kyle Whittingham is the longest tenured head coach in the Pac-12, coming up on 14 years at Utah after taking over for Urban Meyer in the 2005 season. Whittingham has guided the Utes through a tough transition to the Pac-12, and after some growing pains, the Utes are now a perennial contender in the South Division. Each and every season, the Utes are competitive and teams hate playing them because of how hard nose and well coached they are. Utah has been picked as one of the favorites, at least unofficially, by many people this off season, and media outlets are giving coach Whitt some due with where they rank him in the league.
