SALT LAKE CITY — Utah football closed out its 2016 recruiting class strong Wednesday with the commitment of four-star recruit Maxs Tupai.
Tupai, a highly-touted defensive end from Murray High School who will add to the already versatile and deep Utah defense, announced his decision to play at Utah Wednesday afternoon. Tupai was deciding between Oklahoma, UCLA, USC and home-town school Utah, among others.
The 6-foot-3, 250 pound defensive end did not sign with the Utes on National Signing Day because he wanted to take an official visit to UCLA after they made a late push to sign him.
