Utah basketball notes: Playing up tempo, lineup fluidity and more

That manifested in a 124-70 exhibition win over Cal State Monterey Bay last week, when Utah played rapid-fire basketball for 88 possessions. The Utes took quick shots, ran the floor, drove aggressively into the lane and put up a lot of points.

That doesn't make Utah suddenly a super-fast paced team, center Jakob Poeltl said. It mostly came out of a lot of emphasis in pace on practice leading up to the scrimmage. But it should happen more. Even for the seven-footer.

"I like to play on the move — I'm not that much of a stationary player," Poeltl said.
