Krystkowiak said that Taylor's scholarship came up when the Utes recruited him five years ago, and the Utes could see that Taylor had diverse interests, was strong in class, and had a "magnetizing" effect on the whole Pacific Hills High School student body.
Highlighting his point, Krystkowiak said his wife showed him a picture of Taylor after Utah's win over Colorado last week hugging a young fan who was crying in his arms. He said it illustrated Taylor's outreach to the Utes' fanbase, and how accessible he's been throughout his career.
"That to me had about 1000 words in it," Krystkowiak said.
