Within one press release, the Utah basketball program announced the medical retirement of center Jeremy Olsen, and the addition of Lorenzo Bonam.
Olsen, who would be a senior this coming season, is stepping away from basketball due to injury issues. The Utah big man has been a consistent contributor in Utah's lineup ever since his freshman season. The loss of Olsen is definitely a blow to Utah's front court depth, especially when it comes to size. Dallin Bachynski just graduated, meaning the Utes are now down two centers. If Jakob Poeltl would have left for the NBA, the Utes would be in a world of hurt in the paint.
