Utah freshman outfielder DaShawn Keirsey has been named a Louisville slugger freshman All-American after a standout rookie season with the Utes.
The left-handed speedster out of San Diego was also an All Pac-12 selection and an All-Defensive selection for batting .293 and garnering 63 hits in his first season at Utah.
Keirsey’s 28 runs scored led the Pac-12 in conference play. He also stole 11 bases (6th in Pac-12) and hit .313 in league games. He also was a confident glove in center field, with only one error on the year.
He was the Pac-12 player of the week last week after racking up seven RBI against Washington, including an inside-the-park home run.
