The freshman skier from Austria ranks #4 on our list of top 10 athletes of 2014-15
Veronika Mayerhofer arrived on campus last year as a 22 year old freshman. A member of the Austrian ski team since 2006, she is a veteran skier, who had spent the years most normally would spend in college, instead focusing on professional ski racing back in Europe.
In 2009 she finished fifth in the 5-km classical race at the European Youth Olympic Festival. She placed second in the 5km classical and freestyle races at the Austrian ski championships. She finished 13th in the 2014 skiathalon at the U-23 World Ski championships.
