Here are three takeaways from Utah’s spring game on Saturday:
1. Tyler Huntley will make the quarterback competition interesting
The true freshman quarterback isn’t going to sit back and accept a redshirt season while Troy Williams (who is nursing a sore arm and was shut down for spring a couple of weeks ago) and Brandon Cox battle it out. With Williams on the sideline, Huntley outdueled Cox in the spring game, posting 17 completions on 26 attempts for 233 yards with a touchdown. He looked extremely comfortable in the offense (with the exception of one collision with his running back during a handoff) and he didn’t look jittery.
