The Triple Double: Late mistakes doom Utes in loss to Arizona

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah was outmatched and undersized against the visiting Arizona Wildcats Thursday night in a 94-82 loss.

A second-half surge led by guard Sedrick Barefield’s hot hand (23 points) nearly lifted the Utes over the Wildcats as the two teams exchanged baskets. But after tying up the game three separate times with six minutes left to play, Utah allowed some mental mistakes late to give Arizona the opening it needed to put the Utes away.

While it was a mostly respectable effort from the Utes against the No. 14 team in the country, there were several areas where the Utes struggled and allowed the Wildcats to get the best of them.
