FEDERAL WAY, Wash.- The Utah men's swim team is sixth after two relay events on the first day of competition at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships.

The Utes placed eighth in the 200 medley relay as Paul Ungur, Jack Burton, Ben Scott and Sean Bloore narrowly missed out on a new school record, finishing with a time of 1:27.92.

In the 800 free relay, Utah had two teams finish right behind one another in sixth and seventh place. Bence Kiraly, Kristian Kron, Daniel McArthur and David Fraser hit the wall in 6:26.
