ATLANTA - Utah men’s swimming and diving sent two competitors to the evening session on the first day of the NCAA Championships. Bence Kiraly advanced in the 500 free and Josiah Purss moved on in the one-meter dive.
Kiraly, who will be swimming in two other events at the championships, finished 12th during the prelims this morning with a time of 4:15.77, just two-hundredths of a second off his time at the Pac-12 Championships. This evening, he placed 14th overall with a time of 4:16.74.
Purss advanced in the one-meter event with a score of 357.
