Summer Locals: Davies helps Bulls to narrow win; Poeltl takes on basketball standard

LAS VEGAS — Only one local basketball player played on a winning team in Saturday’s NBA Summer League quarterfinals in Las Vegas.

Former BYU post Brandon Davies and the Chicago Bulls advanced to the semifinals. Here’s how the rest of the players with local ties did.

Chicago 88, Washington 85 — Davies contributed three points and four rebounds in nearly 14 minutes off the bench in the Bulls’ narrow win over the Wizards.

The former BYU post who finished last season in Italy had a plus-minus rating of plus-6 for the Bulls (5-0), who were led by 17 points and nine rebounds from Bobby Portis.
