KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Utah sophomore Sammy Cordova and freshman Katie Donovan combined to toss a three-hit shutout to help propel the Utes (36-18) to a 2-0 win over the Longwood Lancers (34-25) at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium Saturday night. With the win, the Utes advance to play Tennessee in the regional final tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. MT.
Cordova gave up just two hits and struck out a season-high four batters in her four innings of work, while improving her record to 4-0 on the season. Meanwhile, Donovan gave up just one hit and struck out three, while working three shutout-innings and setting a new school record with her seventh save of the season.
