SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Utah softball team was selected to finish the 2016 conference campaign in fifth place as voted on by the Pac-12 head coaches.
Following a 36-19 record and an at-large berth into the 2015 NCAA Championship Tournament, the Utes were recently tabbed No. 23 in the nation in the 2016 ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Preseason Poll.
Reigning Pac-12 Champion and Women’s College World Series participant Oregon was picked to win the Pac-12, receiving eight of the nine first-place votes. UCLA, also a Women’s College World Series participant in 2015, was selected second in the poll after receiving the remaining first-place vote.
