Las Vegas, Nev. - Utah Softball completed five-game sweep of its competition this weekend at the DeMarini Desert Classic with a 9-0 conquest of Hawai'i. The Utes out scored their opponents 42-1 this weekend, batting .352 with eight home runs.
Katie Donovan evened her record at 3-3 with five shutout innings. Hawai’I only mustered two hits against the sophomore and struck out seven times. The Utes have allowed only seven runs in their first 11 games, including no earned runs this weekend.
Both teams were unable to solve the opposing pitcher until the fourth inning.
