Shelley, Shyne helps Utah football hold on for win over Oregon

SALT LAKE CITY — Consider Jason Shelley's first test passed.

The new Utah quarterback completed 18-of-31 passes for 262 yards, and ran for another two scores as Utah opened up the game with a 10-point lead on a made field goal and then touchdown on an Oregon turnover, before holding on for a 32-25 win in a solid performance without two of its key starters.

Utah needed some late-game heroics when Oregon took its first lead of the game in the fourth quarter after a Mitch Wishnowsky blocked punt that set up a 3-yard passing touchdown to Travis Dye.
