SALT LAKE CITY — Sedrick Barefield’s first shot of his career at Utah was an airball 3-point attempt — not exactly an amazing start to an already delayed beginning with the Utes.
Barefield quickly made up for the errant shot, however, and went on to make five 3-pointers against visiting Prairie View A&M in a 92-60 victory Saturday. It was the first appearance from the Southern Methodist University transfer, who was forced to sit out until the fall semester had come to a close Friday due to the NCAA transfer rule.
The five 3-pointers from Barefield on Saturday was a first during the 2016-17 season for any Utah player and first since former Ute Jordan Loveridge made five 3’s against UCLA on Feb.
