Utah received a commitment from, as far as we know, the first member of its 2017 class on Sunday, when 6-foot-3 Provo High wideout Ty Jones took coaches up on an offer extended at June's Ute Shoot 7-on-7 passing tournament.
Jones also received an offer at BYU's junior day.
Provo assistant Jay Puafisi described Jones as a receiver with height, speed and hands, and a young man who sets a positive example for his teammates. Jones works at a Subway to help ease the financial burden on his mother, Puafisi said.
"I think this is going to be a breakout year for him.
