BOZEMAN, Mont. - Sophomore transfer Egbert Weverink made his singles debut for Utah men's tennis with a splash winning the 2015 Bobcat Invitational. The 6’8″ dutchman beat fellow teammate Matt Cowley in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.
“After a tough result in doubles, it feels great to bounce back and win three singles matches to win the title here in Montana,” said Weverink.
In the Blue Flight, senior Jamey Swiggart was on track to make it an all Ute party in Montana, winning the first set, 7-6, and taking an early break in the second set, but was unable to hold on for the victory, losing 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 to Utah State’s Luis Lopez in the finals.
