The Utah men’s tennis team started the first day of fall competition with a strong performance at the Bobcat Invite.
In Bozeman, Mont., sophomores Santiago Sierra and Louis-Philippe Gascon advanced to the semifinals, while No 1-seeded Matt Cowley and Egbert Weverink, ranked No. 59 in the nation, as well as the tandem of Jamey Swiggart and Johan Jonhagen, were upset in the quarterfinals. Sierra and Gascon will face Montana State’s Flink and James in semifinal action Saturday at 10am.
However, the Utes rebounded and finished the day undefeated in singles play.
